Transit Van Interior Wall Panels (148″ HR)

*Recent Release* (See Product Line page for details)

Our Transit Van Interior Wall Panel kit is designed for use with our Smooth Rail Mounting System.  You can purchase the mounting system separately, or you can add it to your kit by checking the box for it.

Our paneling kits come cut to size and shape to fit between the rails of your mounting system, and to conform to the other features of your van such as wheel wells, ribbing, and wall features and contours.  Each panel is pre-drilled in the proper locations for easy attachment to the ribbing of your van.  All kits come with self-drilling, thread forming sheet metal screws to enhance sheet metal engagement and improve serviceability.

Start by selecting which paneling areas you want your kit to cover (upper, mid, and/or lower). You can further configure your kit with the options that will appear below. The “Add To Cart” price will update as you make changes. Below the Add To Cart button you will find details about each option available.

Upper Paneling Options - Explained

The upper paneling section covers the upper wall and ceiling area above the top wall rail of your mounting system.  It also comes with trim panels for the top of the rear doors (above the windows), and the top of the slider door (above the slider door window).  Appropriate panels will be pre-marked with common cutout locations for standard features (such as vent fans), but you will want to double check and adjust to the precise location of your build components before doing the cutout.

  • Upper Material:
    • Bamboo – Unfinished: This is the recommended, default option at no additional cost. Your panels will come pre-cut and lightly sanded, ready for you to sand to final grit and finish with your desired product.
    • Bamboo – Finished: This is an addon option. Your panels will come sanded to 220 grit, and finished with our standard Osmo Poly-X Oil – 3054 Satin Clear finish.
    • Fabric – Grey Heather: This is an addon option. Your panels will come wrapped with Minicell & our standard Grey Heather color.
    • Fabric – Custom Color: This is an addon option. Your panels will come wrapped with Minicell & the fabric color you select from the available fabric  options (see color samples at bottom of page).
  • Other Options:
    • Lighting Package:  Our lighting package includes pre-drilled holes for 6 (included) LED puck lights.  Please note that these pre-drilled holes are strategically placed to not conflict with the two standard vent fan locations.   If you have a non standard vent fan location and/or a rooftop AC unit, we recommend NOT getting the lighting package, as the hole positions may conflict with those cutouts.
    • B Pillar Plugs:  On a Sprinter, the meet point around the “B Pillar” is one of the more aesthetically challenging areas to address as a DIY van builder.  If your van has the factory B Pillar plugs, you will need to modify them slightly to accommodate the rails of the Smooth Rail Mounting System and Upper Panels.  We also recommend fabric wrapping them for a clean final finish.  You can do this DIY, or if you prefer us to provide custom shaped and pre-wrapped B pillar plugs, select this option and we will send you a replacement set of OEM B pillar plugs that have been modified in our shop to accommodate the mounting system, and fabric wrapped to match your mid paneling fabric selection (or Grey Heather by default).
Mid Paneling Options - Explained

The mid paneling section covers the area of your walls around the window pockets (from the upper wall rail to the mid wall rail of your Smooth Rail Mounting System).  The base kit comes with a full set of pieces to wrap around the perimeter face of your window pockets.  You may also add additional inset panels to fill the window pocket for any pockets that do not have windows in them.  If you have pill windows, you can order an inset panel, then use a jigsaw to cutout the smaller pill window area within the inset panel.

  • Mid Material:
    • Fabric – Grey Heather: This is the recommended, default option at no additional cost.  Your panels will come wrapped with Minicell & our standard Grey Heather color.
    • Fabric – Custom Color:  This is an addon option. Your panels will come wrapped with Minicell & the fabric color you select from the available fabric  options (see color samples at bottom of page).
    • Unfinished Bamboo:  This is an option that is actually a little less expensive than the default.  Your panels will come pre-cut and lightly sanded, ready for you to sand to final grit and finish with your desired product.
    • Finished Bamboo:  This is an addon option.  Your panels will come sanded to 220 grit, and finished with our standard  Osmo Poly-X Oil – 3054 Satin Clear finish.
  • Inset Panels:  The base kit comes with all the pieces to surround the perimeter face of your van’s window pockets.  For any window pockets that do not contain windows, we recommend ordering an inset panel.  Simply select each location where you need an inset panel (this field will accept more than one selection, so select all that apply).  Each inset panel kit will come sized to cover the the corresponding window area, and includes our Panel Clips and screws for an easy “no glue” installation of the inset panel.  Please note that the rear door selection is actually a pair of panels (one for each rear door).
  • Inset Material:  Here you will designate the material to use for your inset panels.  We recommend bamboo (even if your perimeter face is fabric), but if you select Fabric we will match the fabric color you select for your surrounds.  If you do not have fabric wrapped mids, we will default to Grey Heather.

Note: Most DIY customers (and many in shop build customers) leave the angled metal between the face of the window frame, and the inset panel, as is. Some customers pay our professional installers extra to dress this out in fabric. This is a labor intensive process that involves gluing a strip of Minicell and Fabric to that angled metal surface. If you want to pursue this approach, we are happy to provide matching fabric and minicell to you. Simply calculate how much you need, get a quote from us, and place a custom order for the material needed. If you have questions about this, or would like a quote, please send an email with the quantity of yards of material you need (typically 2-3) with a quote request to sales@roostvans.com.

Lower Paneling Options Explained

The lower paneling section covers from the mid wall rail of the mounting system down to the floor.  Your bottom panels will come sized for a standard factory floor.  If you have a custom floor, you may need to shave a little off the bottom edge to accommodate the taller floor.  These are straight cuts, easily done on a table saw or with a straight edge guide and a skill saw.

  •  Lower Material:
    • Hex-Ply: This is the recommended, default option at no additional cost.
    • Bamboo – Unfinished:  This is an addon option.
